Take advantage of the N.C. Sales Tax exemption established by the General Assembly for the State of North Carolina. The Sales Tax Holiday will be observed on UNC Charlotte’s main campus at Barnes & Noble at UNC Charlotte bookstore in the Student Union:

• Friday August 3, 8:00 am - 7:00 pm
• Saturday, August 4, 10:00 am – 7:00 pm
• Sunday August 5, 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm

Ordering textbooks with pre-pack service means not having to deal with figuring out what books are needed for what section of what course, scurrying around the shelves to find them, then standing in a line out the door to buy them… who (other than a total masochist) wants to do that?

The easiest option by far is to fill out a pre-pack form and Barnes & Noble at UNC Charlotte will do the rest:

The bookstore will operate on the regular Fall/Spring hours schedule through Friday, May 11. The Summer Hours schedule will be:

Commencement Saturday May 12: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM

Closed Sunday May 13

Monday May 14 - Friday May 18: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Saturday May 19 and Sunday May 20: Closed

Monday May 21 and Tuesday May 22: 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM

Wednesday May 23 - Friday May 25: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Closed Saturday May 26 - Monday May 28 (Memorial Day weekend)

If you plan to sell any of this semesters' textbooks, remember, Barnes & Noble at UNC Charlotte has one of the best buy-back programs in the UNC system. If a book is being used again the following semester, you’ll receive up to 50% of the original price paid. And if you find a local buy-back offer higher, we’ll match it!

The UNC Charlotte 4.NINER K race — an annual fund-raising event for need-based scholarships that benefit current students — is Saturday, October 22. Take the walk/run through campus or just come watch, cheer and enjoy the entertainment and activities that are planned.

Barnes & Noble at UNC Charlotte’s standard policy is to close the bookstore when the University closes. However, Manager Jimmy Grinnell and other particularly dedicated employees braved the roads that snowy Monday, January 10, to process online orders. They were joined Tuesday and Wednesday by more caring staff members and were able to open the store during those days. It was a courtesy much appreciated by students who pulled on boots and trudged over to pick up textbooks before Thursday’s big rush. Thanks, B&N!
