FAQs
- Do I need to bring the package notification email with me?
- Yes, descriptive information on the notification aids in locating your package. By bringing this e-mail, we will be able to efficiently find your package and identify you in order to ensure your package(s) is safe and properly delivered.
- Do you accept non-USPS packages?
- No, Mail Services only receives and sends packages in transit through the United States Postal Services. All parcels delivered to campus from other carriers will be delivered to Central Receiving and Stores, located across from the Greenhouse in the same parking lot as Parking Services. You can reach Central Receiving and Stores with any questions at 704-687-3551.
- I am moving home for the summer. Will my mail automatically be forwarded to my home address?
- Mail Services does not automatically change your address if you move off campus for the summer, or for the semester. It is your responsibility to fill out a change of address form which can be picked up at your local post office or filled out online. When filling out the change of address form, pay special attention to all the fields, in order to properly complete the form. Use the following example as a guide:
- First & Last Name
Residence/Dorm Name, Room #
9201 University City Blvd
Charlotte, NC 28223 - This is vital to ensure that your change of address form comes to the University so we will know where to send your mail.
- I am moving back to school after summer break. Do I need to fill out a change of address form to receive my mail at school next semester?
- Yes, each time you move you will be responsible for filling out a change of address form.
- What will happen to my mail if I move off Campus for the summer and I do not fill out a change of address form?
- Mail Services does not deliver student mail during the summer semesters. Your mail will be held and available for pick up Monday through Friday between 10:30 am - 12:00 pm and 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm.
- I changed dorm rooms and I think someone has sent me mail to my old address, will I still get mail?
- Yes, we receive updated rosters weekly, and sometimes daily. Each piece of mail delivered to the University is checked against the most recent roster to ensure proper delivery. If you feel there may have been an error in delivery, feel free to call Mail Services to inquire about your expected mail. You may ask to speak with either Sheryl or Teresa at 704-687-2350.
