Charlotte Folk Society Monthly Gathering, featuring the Burnett Sisters

7:30 p.m., Great Aunt Stell Center, 926 Elizabeth Ave.

These four sisters are an energetic, engaging group of musicians, putting their own stamp on folk, old country, traditional bluegrass, as well as their originals. Charlotte Folk Society Gatherings are family-friendly but donations are gratefully accepted when the hat is passed. More about Charlotte Folk Society.

Light Up the Night features immersive experiences for all ages, including glowing swings on the plaza, live music by DJ Fannie Mae, and pop-up maker spaces inside the museum. There will be five circular glow swings installed on the plaza outside Mint Museum Uptown.

Visit the Rail Trail through the end of February and experience I Heart Rail Trail: Lights, four temporary interactive light exhibits along a one-mile stretch along the Rail Trail from Sycamore Brewing to Carson Street. The following light rail stops will get you along this stretch of the Rail Trail:

  • Carson Street Station
  • Bland Street Station
  • East/West Blvd Station

This display runs every night through Feb. 29

Charlotte Oddities & Curiosities Expo 2020

Are you a weirdo? You may want to check this out. You’ll find taxidermy, preserved specimens, quack medical devices, skull and bones, funeral collectibles, and other Halloween-inspired oddities. $10. Details.

Yvonne Orji is a Nigerian-American actress, comedienne and writer who is best known as one of the stars of HBO’s critically acclaimed comedy series Insecure. A distinguished stand-up comedian, Yvonne has opened for Chris Rock on various stops on his Total Blackout Tour.
