Even though the new North Deck should add lots of parking spaces, daytime discount remote parking at Regal Starlight Cinema (11240 US Highway 29) will return. Many who took advantage of that thrifty choice last year requested it continue. It took some time to work out all the details again, but PaTS made it happen.
Starlight Permits will cost $60 for the year and are available now on a first-come, first-served basis to Commuter Students, Faculty and Staff, including part-time/temporary employees, through the PaTS office. Remember, this is an option best suited for those with conventional daytime class or work schedules; permitted parking hours are from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
The Regal Starlight Cinema lot will be served by CATS Rt. 49 Green Line shuttle, from 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM, Monday - Thursday, with a run time of about every 15 minutes. (From Starlight, the shuttle will stop at 901 Place, University Village, the Flats at Mallard Creek, Facilities Management, North Deck, Laurel Hall, Student Union, Woodward Hall and Student Health Center). First shuttle departs from Starlight Cinema’s parking lot at 6:00 AM; last shuttle leaves the Student Union at 5:45 PM.
This year, the Rt. 49 Green Line will also run one bus on Fridays from 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM, with a run time of about every 30 minutes. On Fridays, Starlight Lot permit holders may continue to park at Starlight or they may park on campus in any Commuter-designated lot. (They may also park in Commuter lots on weekends, holidays when classes are not in session, and during the summer).
The $60 Regal Starlight Cinema Parking Permit is available for purchase through cash, check, credit card or employee payroll deduction. Only 200 Regal Starlight Cinema parking permits will be sold. If you decide later to purchase a regular permit, you may do so at any time.
